Sweet fancy Moses! These burgers were my favorite out of all the burgers in the Zinnecker Burger Marathon. The burgers were moist, juicy, flavorful, delectable, mouthwatering…crazy good.

I baked a bag of sweet potato fries served with spicy aioli (courtesy of Carrie Hartman) to accompany these burgers and they were the perfect match.
I adapted this recipe from an allrecipes.com burger recipe of the same name. Here is my adapted recipe and the recipe for the aioli which I also used on the burgers.

Jalapeno Blue Cheese Burgers
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 T chopped jalapeño
- 1 T onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic
- 3 oz crumbled blue cheese
- 1 T soy sauce
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- Preheat a grill for high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, jalapeno peppers, blue cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce and salt. Mix well using your hands. Pat lightly into 4 large fat patties.
- Place patties on the grill, and cook for about 8 minutes per side, or until well done. Place a slice of cheese on top of each patty, and cover the grill until the cheese melts. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
Spicy Aioli
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2 T Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- Mix all ingredients with a whisk in a medium bowl.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Serve as a dipping sauce for fries, or as a spread on the burgers.
