I was truly dreading this moment, and now I am dreading the next time we have to give Carson a bath. He doesn’t cry very much yet, unless he is naked or cold. So, let’s combine naked, cold and wet for a really great time.
The great thing about this bath is that he smelled so fresh and clean afterward. So Carson’s first bath, while not a pleasant one for him or us, was a success in that aspect. I know that eventually he will like bath time, so I’ll have to keep that in mind as we endure the baths that he screams through.
This was not a one-person job. I don’t know how active and strong-willed most newborns are, but our little guy seems to have some pretty strong legs and arms and he knows how to express his dislike of a situation by throwing some serious kicks and punches. He was a pretty active one in the womb, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. With Ben and myself (and the moral support of my parents) we got it done. Mission: Clean Baby, accomplished.

yeah, newborns + baths = no fun! neither one of my girls liked bath time at that age, although my second, anya, did a much better job at it. my 2 yr. old, isabela, still doesn’t like water running down her face so we still have some adventures during baths/showers, but nowhere near what they used to be! hopefully carson will outgrow this stage better than my bela did, haha!!! good luck carrie :)
