Do you ever have those days as a mother where you just feel 100% blessed to have your sweet child? I’m not saying that I’m not always happy to have this little guy, but some days are just hard and frustrating. Today we are having a good day, but it is only 3:30 in the afternoon and he just woke up from a nap, so who knows what the rest of the day holds for us…
My sweet little guy slept until 7:15. He said “mama” and smiled when I went in to get him. He put his head on my shoulder and patted my arm when I picked him up. He sat sweetly on the couch with me and drank his milk for a while. Then he went over to his chair and let me know he wanted breakfast. He was sweet and happy until a 9am nap. At 10 he woke up, and we had a snack. Then we went to the gym. This is where things got wonderful. Every time we go to the gym he cries and cries when I put him down in the nursery. Today he just said “hi” to everyone as we walked in. When I put him down in the room he just walked off, said hi to a little girl and went to play. When I picked him up he saw me but was more impressed with the playhouse he was opening and closing the shutters of and didn’t come running to me arms wide like he has before. The ladies in there were both impressed with the progress he’s made from the first time we came back in January when I am sure they were hoping I wouldn’t come very often.
After the gym we came home and had lunch, then we went outside for a while and played around. Carson loves, loves, loves to be outside. It can cure anything that might be bothering the child. After about 30 minutes we came inside, played some more and then he brought me a book, we read it, and then he went down for another nap. He woke up an hour later as happy as could be. After a little snack he initiated a tickle fight, which is totally hilarious. He is a fun baby.
Last week Carson and I drove up to Dallas to visit the Persherns! Carson loves Beckett and Lane. It’s so fun to have cousins close to the same age, and I love how they play together. However, I do not look forward to when they are older and start daring each other to do dangerous things like jumping off roofs and blowing things up with fireworks. I have boy cousins who I saw do these things, so I know it happens…
Here are some pictures of the boys outside. Wish I’d gotten one of them all together.
This is Carson answering the phone. He does this now when he hears a phone ring. It makes me smile.
This past weekend Kate and Steve came down to Houston to spend some time with us. Why did I not take any pictures? I only took two with my phone. This one is of Carson’s first bike ride!
Ben bought a bike trailer and Carson was not a fan his first time around. I am sure he’ll start to like it more as he gets used it it and that pesky helmet!
This was taken on our way to dinner on Friday night. We went early, but the boy did not take an afternoon nap so he crashed in the car. Thankfully he made it most of the way through dinner.

Oh my goodness, it seems like he is sooooooo old!!! I just have to keep reminding myself that he is still one
