Helmets
Carson flipped out big time when Ben put this on him today before our family bike ride/run. Before the helmet was an issue he was all ready to go on the bike ride. When Ben put it on him we said, “Carson, you have to wear the helmet if you want to go on the bike ride. Don’t you want to go on the bike ride?” to which he replied, “No! Take off!” If he had the vocabulary I’m sure he would have also said, “Well, I DID want to go on a bike ride until you jerks made me wear this horrible thing!” I gave him a bag of fruit snacks and we headed to the bike trailer, screaming boy in tow. When all else fails, bribe your kid with food and just make them do what they are refusing to do. I should write a parenting book.
Today at church the nursery ladies had to come get me out of service because Betsy wouldn’t stop crying. I think that on top of all of her other problems, she now is experiencing some separation anxiety. I wonder if that has something to do with the fact that she knows nothing apart from being with me or Ben? We have a few events in the next month that require her to be with a babysitter. I’m not sure how that’s going to go. She will not take a bottle (2 failed attempts this weekend) and now she doesn’t want to be held by anyone but me or Ben. Any volunteers to come watch my baby?
Ben gave me the chance to get out today. I went shopping. Without my kids. It was glorious. Thank you, Ben!
