Cupcake
Today I was adventurous with the kids. We left the house at 10, went to the mall in Sugar Land to get a few things, I let Carson play at the mall play area (he wouldn’t have let us leave without going!) and then I decided that we should drive to Rice Village for cupcakes. Wednesday is s’more cupcake day at Celebrity Cupcakes, and really that was the main reason I decided to go. Guess what? They didn’t have any! So we settled for a box of 4 mini cupcakes. I let Carson have a bite of this one in the car before we left the cupcake shop. I knew he wouldn’t let me get away with bringing him into the shop and then just continuing on with the day like there weren’t sweet goodies in the front seat. These mini cupcakes are a perfect size for kids, and adults really also.
After leaving Rice Village we stopped by “Mrs. Carrie’s house” and mooched lunch off of her :) I fed Betsy and we headed back home, taking the long way because there was a big accident on our usual route. We got home at 2. Carson didn’t fall asleep in the car and even though he put up a good fight he finally took a nap and didn’t wake up until 5. Betsy took a nap at home in the morning and then 2 little naps in the car. She took another 45 minute nap this afternoon. She went down easier today than she has been, so that was nice.
Ben worked his last day at his firm today and now has a 4 day weekend before starting at the new firm on Monday. My mom, dad, Lisa, Maren and Kasper are coming for a visit this weekend! Hoping to tempt Lisa back to Texas…
That would be a great day except for the part about the s’more cupcakes. Suddenly it turned into a tragedy.
