Gramma
Today was really nice and I enjoyed almost every single minute of it. There was a chunk of time in there where I was counting down the minutes until Ben called and told me he was coming home, glass of wine in hand. Kate was here a good part of the day and was so helpful. Betsy was up a lot of the night and Kate got up with Carson so I got a little extra sleep. Ben was also a big help last night. After I was up at 1, then 3, then 4 he got up with Betsy at 6 and got her to sleep another hour and a half. On the bright side, every nap I put Betsy down for today she fussed so minimally that I never once had to go upstairs and console her. I think Kate might have been good luck, so I might have to convince her to quit her job and move in with us. This morning we went to Trader Joe’s for no reason other than entertainment. The groceries I came home with were just bonuses.
We picked up Chick-fil-a for lunch and then spent some time outside before both Betsy and Carson went down for naps. I told Carson when he was going to bed that he had to say bye-bye to gramma because she wasn’t going to be there when he got up. But when he woke up from his nap he cried and cried about the fact that she had in fact gone home.
Betsy rolled from her back to front a few times today. We tried rice cereal again and she hated all but the first couple bites. And those all went dribbling down her chin anyway. She’ll catch on soon I hope!
