Lunch Duty

I picked up play date lunch for 3 adults and 3 kids at Chick-fil-A today.  My front seat was pretty full.  I’m convinced that this is the only place moms go to get lunch for their kids in this city.  But despite the long line at the drive thru, things moved quickly and the sweet girl at the window seemed unflustered and was incredibly friendly.  She even made small talk with Carson since his window was rolled down.  I do love the food at Chick-fil-A, but one of the main reasons I enjoy going there is the employees.  The one near the Galleria has an older gentlemen who will fawn over your kids and just make your day with his kindness.  I think I almost always leave there in a better mood than when I came.  But maybe it’s just the waffle fries…

Today I registered Carson for preschool!  He won’t start until September, 2 days a week, but I am already excited about it.  I toured the school yesterday and was so impressed with the staff, the kids and the structure.  Oh, how I do love structure.  You wouldn’t know that by looking at my life, but it’s true.  So maybe I should say that I admire structure.  This sounds crazy, but while I am glad that Carson will get some socializing in with people other than me and Betsy, and I will get a little break, I know I’ll miss him being around those days.
