Smiling at Brother

This little girl is getting both of her two bottom teeth in right now!  She is now eating at least 2, and often 3 meals these days.  I always give her solids for dinner, but over the last week or so I’ve started giving her solids at breakfast or lunch.  She is loving it.  Most of all I think she likes being at the table with Carson.  She sure does love him!

This morning Betsy was playing with a stuffed lion toy of Carson’s.  I switched it out with one of hers that has a rattle in it, thinking she’d like it better since it made noise.  She started crying and looking for the lion toy.  She stopped immediately when I gave the lion back.  That’s the first time I’ve seen her do that.

I locked the kids and the keys in the car today.  Technically, Carson locked them in the car, but I can only blame myself!  I was getting Betsy in her carseat when Carson climbed into the passenger seat and proceeded to climb over into the drivers seat.  I closed the passenger door and as I walked around to get Carson he hit the lock button on my keys (which I’d wisely left in the seat) with his knee.  I remained calm at first and tried to talk to Carson through the window, asking him to press the button on the key to unlock the car.  And of course he presses the panic button and the alarm starts to go off.  He gets a little freaked out, and Betsy starts to cry.  I get him to press the lock button and the panic goes off.  After some coaxing (and eventually some stern talking, aka yelling) he unlocked the car and we went along our merry way.  It was stressful.

Megan, Jack and baby Claire came over this afternoon.  It was good to see them and so good for the boys to get some playtime.  I can’t wait for Betsy and Claire to be able to play together.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this post! You know I locked Ben (in his car seat) and my keys in the car in August. He lived.
