Talking to Daddy

Ben always calls me when he’s on his way home.  Carson usually knows that it’s him and wants to talk.  Today I put Ben on speaker, locked the phone and handed it over to Carson so that they could talk.  He walked around the house with the phone next to his ear, telling Ben about the lights, the backyard, Ginger, etc. I took the phone from him at one point to see if Betsy would “say hi” (make some squealing noises) for Ben.  Carson fell apart.  After a little discussion about how we ask nicely for things and control our emotions of displeasure (all of it sunk in I’m sure) I gave the phone back.  He then tried to get Betsy to talk to Ben.  It was real cute.  He held the phone out like this and kept saying, “Hey Betsy, say hi to daddy!”

I heard Ben say, “I’m not really sure what you said, buddy.” more than once.  Carson isn’t always easy to understand in person, and over the phone it’s even harder.  So the fact that I heard Ben answer the question, “Hey daddy, what you doing there?” multiple times by telling him that he was in the car on his way home was impressive.

I wonder what the record is for the youngest kid to successfully wear and use his own bluetooth?
