The Girls
The girls stayed with us last night. This morning they made a birthday cake for Carrie and we made this circle garland that they hung back home as a little surprise. We had to make grand plans of getting the cake into the car without their mom seeing and hiding this garland without stuffing it in a bag where it was sure to get tangled up. We ended up hanging it in my closet until right before they left so that someone could hold the bag with the garland carefully on the ride home. I’m not sure how tangled up it got, but Lucie sent me a picture of the finished product and it looked to have survived.
Betsy is pulling up on everything and will then cruise around, her favorites are the coffee table and the couch. It’s a new world for us here! She is getting very good at it, and also good at getting down from her standing position without falling. Sometimes it takes her a while to get in the right position to squat down. She was standing up at the window earlier and kept bending her legs, then straightening, then doing it over and over again until she finally sat down. It was especially cute to watch because she only had a diaper on and she has some cute leg rolls and a real nice buddha belly.
We watched Toy Story with the girls this morning. We hadn’t watched it in a while so Carson got really excited during a few parts. The rest of the day he played with his Woody and Buzz toys saying things like, “Shield your eyes!”, something Buzz says to Woody at one point, and while banging them together and making fighting noises he says “Be nice!” because during the scene where Buzz and Woody are fighting underneath the car we talk about how it isn’t nice. Later in the day he said, “You’re OK Woody. But maybe you should cry about it.” Have Ben or I actually said that to him or Betsy?! Thankfully he said it all with a really sweet tone to his voice, but maybe that’s just his imitation of my sarcasm…
