Owen and Carson
Lunch at 11am at Chick fil A is just something that stay-at-home moms do. You know I’m right! And it’s almost always been a great experience for us. Unfortunately, this particular CFA has a play area that is geared toward big kids. No area for the little ones to play. I’m not even sure Carson would’ve been physically able to climb up in the playscape if he’d wanted to. The boys weren’t too interested in lunch. They wanted to play. And that was something I expected. I did NOT expect that they’d both cry when they were left in the play room. They did not want to sit in the booth, either. They wanted to run around the restaurant, which wasn’t an option and that didn’t make them very happy. To make a long story short, this was a rough lunch with very little visiting of the moms and lots of disciplining of the toddlers. Ugh. On the bright side, Betsy and Kayla were angels :)
After we finished lunch and after dragging my screaming child to the car we went to Target. Why? I really needed just a few things, I needed them today and I figured it wouldn’t take too long. Thankfully by the time we got there he was fine. I let Carson walk in some stores now instead of riding in the cart. He actually does ok, but does have some issues leaving things alone as we continue our shopping. I’m pretty sure everyone knows his name by the time we leave some place because of how many times I have to call for him to catch up or fall back and walk with us. Today he got distracted playing with a hanger in the kids clothing and after a couple of kind reminders that if he doesn’t obey he has to sit in the cart, he wound up in the cart and he screamed like crazy. And so I continued about my shopping getting great looks from everyone we passed. Some sympathetic, some a bit judgmental. Again, Betsy was an angel! It was rough, but I got everything I needed and we all made it home relatively unscathed.

Sounds like lots of fun! :-(
