 Marker Monster

Today we made decorated some construction paper place mats for my dad to use at Kairos.  If you’re not familiar with this ministry I encourage you to check it out and see how you can help.  Carson likes to use the markers when we color, no crayons for this kid.

We  met Ben for lunch this afternoon.  Betsy and Carson both took great naps when we got home which gave me time to make a killer tomato soup for dinner and some cookies, also for Kairos.  It’s amazing how having the opportunity to start and finish something (including washing the dishes) is such a treat!  I wish there was some way I could have appreciated stuff like that back before I had kids, but I’m sure I then complained about having to do those dishes in the first place or about something else silly that was a waste of my time and energy to worry about.  Makes me want to make a conscious effort to appreciate where we are in life right now instead of complaining about parts of it. Because I’m sure I’ll look back on this stage of my life and wish I could go back in time and tell myself how great this time really is.  Does that make sense?

Oh, that reminds me.  While driving recently Carson was talking to himself and kind of to me and says, “Am I making any sense?”  and I said, “What do you mean, buddy?  Are you making sense?” and he says, “No, I’m not making any sense!” and starts to laugh.  It was really funny.

I love everything about this post (except feeling guilty that I haven’t responded to the Kairos email yet). There is a lot of wisdom in here, and some good laughs, too. Perfection!
