Kettle Corn

This was probably the best part about the zoo and gave us all the most pleasure!  I thought Carson would LOVE the zoo.  He has before.  But unfortunately I think he was just too tired.  We waited to go to the zoo until after Betsy’s morning nap, which made it a little close to lunch time.  I tried to keep them full of snacks, and it was fine for Betsy.  But Carson was just a grump.  He didn’t want to walk, but when I’d carry him he wanted to get down, when Ben carried him he wanted me to carry him.  He said he wanted to see the monkeys, but when we saw the monkeys he wanted to leave.  On the bright side the weather was lovely, we scored this delicious kettle corn that Carson and Betsy both really enjoyed, and Betsy really seemed to have a good time seeing the animals.

After we got the kids home, fed and down for naps I went with Claire to Grand Central Market.  It’s an open food market in downtown LA that has been around since 1917.  In the center there are fruit and vegetable vendors, as well as dry goods.  Recently some trendy and modern vendors have taken up spaces around the edges; a coffee bar, cheese shop, The Egg Slut, and a few other really delicious looking places including a Thai place that I would’ve eaten at if it was meal time and I wasn’t so full of kettle corn!

We head home tomorrow.  It’s been a really fun Christmas, and while I don’t look forward to the flight itself, I am looking forward to being home.
