Thank you, iPad

This wonderful invention got us through today’s trip home.  Betsy fell asleep without too much trouble.  Carson fell asleep, but woke up soon after.  I think he was having trouble getting comfortable.  I was worried that Carson was going to wake Betsy up so I was going to give him my iPhone, which was under my leg.  In the process of getting that for him I woke Betsy up.  Then there was much screaming and crying (me and Betsy both) and the sweet flight attendant offered me a glass of wine.  I wish I could have said YES!  So even though neither of my sweet babies got a good nap, they were able to be entertained by the ipad for a while at least.

Our day started out with a surprise from Betsy.  She’d pooped at some point in the night but managed to sleep through the discomfort.  When I went in to get her this morning I found the poop had made its way out of her diaper and up her back.  Thankfully it didn’t seep out anywhere else.  But I did have to throw out those jammies and give her a bath.  The rest of getting packed up and out the door went smoothly.  Even our time getting to the airport and through baggage check and security was without much drama.  Thanks to Kate, Steve and Claire for your help!

When we got home Ben went to get the car, we drove home, and picked up Taco Cabana for dinner.  When Betsy had finished dinner I went to clean up her hands and face only to discover that she’d pooped again.  Out the diaper and up the back yet again.  Cleaning poop off of your child’s back is something that shouldn’t happen to someone twice in a day.  So Betsy got another bath, and Carson also.  We got the kids to bed around 8 I think.  Betsy had a hard time going to sleep, but Carson didn’t put up a fight when I told him it was time.  I could have gone to bed then tooo, but for some reason stayed up watching Star Trek with Ben.  Don’t ask me why.
