Monday was a typical day, Carson had school and we just did normal everyday things.  The only out of the ordinary thing was Kate’s birthday!  Carson made her a little happy birthday video :)

Tuesday was supposed to be full of snow and icy roads, but it turned out to be just cold and rainy.  Schools were closed and we stayed home all day, which made everyone a little cagey by the end of the day.

Wednesday I drove the kids and myself to San Antonio for Dana Sundbeck’s funeral.  It was a sad occasion, but also nice to see so much family gathering together to celebrate her life and rejoice in where she is now, free of disease and pain and with our Father in Heaven.  The kids did amazingly well considering all of the driving we did in one day.

Thursday we had our 20 week ultrasound.  Carrie came out to watch the kids, thank you, Carrie!  She stayed until lunch, then headed to get her kids.  Suzanne came over to stay with Carson and Betsy during their naps so that I could go get “styled” for a maternity segment that a friend of hers is doing this coming Tuesday on a local Houston channel.  In theory I think it’s great.  I get to be on TV!  In clothes I can’t afford!  But when I stop to really think about it I get kind of uncomfortable with it all and imagine myself falling or tripping or just looking awkward.  But I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something out of the ordinary.  Thanks, Suzanne, for the opportunity.

Friday was another normal day with errands and chores.

Saturday we went to Liam’s 3rd birthday party, ate lunch, took naps, Ben worked on taxes, I blogged and cooked for Sunday, and then we all went to the grocery store before dinner and bed.

Sunday we went to church then spent the rest of the day getting ready to have people over for the Super Bowl.  The Hartmans were here and we had a great time stuffing our faces, but a not so great time watching the Bronco’s get tramlped.

In random news.

  • Betsy is walking more and more everyday.
  • Carson is wearing boxer briefs and it’s kind of the cutest thing ever.
  • Betsy has been a total joy to be around lately.  Only crying really after she wakes up from naps.  She smiles all the time and is just a fun little girl.
  • Carson dropped something the other day, I think I might have even bumped into him and caused him to do it, and he said, “Oh, I’m sorry mom.  I didn’t mean to do that.” He sounded so old to me.  He’s definitely growing up.

Betsy climbed into this cabinet and closed the door.  She then had a great time opening and closing the door.

This post is my FAVORITE! I love the video (and Carson’s quote at the end). I can’t believe you drove to San Antonio and back in one day with the kids, You’re like a pioneer woman!! Let us know when the segment airs.

The drive was hard, but Carson and Betsy really did great. A lot of that is thanks to the DVD player in the van! The segment was live this morning. I felt like a goober. It’s on our DVR, so I’ll show it to you as long as you promise not to laugh too hard :)
