I’m trying to decide how to proceed with the weekly blogging. It was almost easier in some ways to do it daily! By the time I write the posts I’ve forgotten some of those little things that happened over the week and sometimes totally forgotten what we did on some days. The best way for me to write up the posts are by the day, but because my life is fairly uneventful, a lot of days are the same. And no one wants to hear about how often we eat Chick-fil-A or how much laundry I do and how I rarely put it all away before I have to start another round of loads and so I’m digging clothes for the kids out of the laundry basket instead of their drawers. But at the same time I think I’ll want to look back on these posts and see what I perceive now to be monotonous, but what I’ll likely look back on fondly. So for the time being I’ll keep on doing it the way I have been, leaving out the truly boring, although my definition of boring and yours might be different :)
Monday: Betsy and I went to Home Depot and bought paint for baby’s room! Creamy buttermilk, kind of makes me happy just thinking about the color, it’s a sweet pale yellow. Totally predictable for a gender neutral room. We went on a big grocery trip before picking Carson up from school. Wish I’d meal plan for the week every week, even though it means a long grocery trip, it makes the rest of the week so much easier. This afternoon I slept on the couch while Carson watched Paw Patrol, thanks to Betsy for taking such a great nap!
Tuesday: Betsy has a cold/allergies so we stayed home from bible study. Charity came over and brought lunch and we got to chat a little. It was a much needed time together.
Wednesday: Carson went to school, we came home and I cooked the rest of the day. I made a big double batch of spaghetti and meatballs and brought some to a family who just had a new baby. Betsy took a good afternoon nap! I hope this is a trend.
Thursday: We played with the Richey’s this morning, had lunch, then came home for naps. We had girl’s wine and cheese night and the guys got together, which I think was really good. We made bookends which I’ll hopefully get around to sharing soon…
Friday: We ran a lot of errands this morning. Carson and Betsy were great. We came home to eat, nap and pack for Austin. We’re going tonight and coming home Saturday night. Grandpa Marvin is going to be in Round Rock so we figured we should make the trip to see him.
Saturday: Last night we stayed with Kate and Steve, this morning we got to see Claire and Daniel. We drove out to pick Sarah up and see her new place. Then we headed to Round Rock and spent the rest of the day there. Talked out on the deck, played bocce ball. Gave the kids dinner and headed back home. It was a hard drive after we left Bastrop. Betsy cried a lot, but both kids finally went to sleep. When we got home I stayed in the car with the white noise on while Ben went upstairs and set up the kids monitors and sound machines. Betsy transferred to her crib with no problem. I forget sometimes how wonderful it is to hold a sleeping baby/toddler. It doesn’t happen with Carson anymore, but still happens occasionally with Betsy. It’s pretty special.
Sunday: After church we went to lunch with some friends, but stayed just long enough to eat. Both kids were in real need of naps. After they got up we drove in to pick Ben’s car up from work since I’d picked him up from work on Friday. A cold front came through during our outing, temp of 72 when we left and 41 when we got home. Texas weather!
