  • On Tuesday I started going to a book study, Bringing up Boys, thanks to some encouragement from Lore!  I stopped going to the last class after one Tuesday when Carson was sick.  I’d just started to feel a little like we were doing too much, rushing around in the mornings Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and staying home was so much easier on everyone.  But after going today I was reminded of how important it is to be with other moms and believers to get some perspective, be encouraged and get a little bit of a break.
  • On Wednesday I had a doctor’s appointment.  No news except that I discovered that I can take Zantac for my heartburn!  Very good news.
  • We had some play time with the Richeys on Friday.

All the balls from the ball pit were thrown downstairs.

  • On Saturday we made a trip to Round Rock for my mom’s 65th birthday.  We had Hoody’s for lunch, Ben went up to the library to work, the boys (and Betsy!) rode the tractor, we had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner then we roasted s’mores for dessert.  Lindsey, Ben and I drove in to Austin to the 30th birthday party Sarah was throwing for Lane!  We had fun, but I definitely felt old and out of place.  I am not cool enough to hang out with some of those hip Austinites.

  • Unfortunately our Sunday began a little after midnight with Betsy screaming.  Ben and I ended up being up most of the night with her and decided to head back to Houston instead of going to my mom’s birthday brunch that morning.  We were so sad to miss it.  I took Betsy to urgent care when we got home.  She had a 102 fever and a major ear infection.  Got her started on antibiotics, so hopefully we’re on the road to recovery.

    1. So sorry about Miss B.
    2. I thought it was against the rules to throw the balls downstairs. That’s what Carson told me!
