  • We spent the week fighting Betsy’s ear infection, and she spent it fighting taking any and all medications.  I finally started giving her the antibiotics in chocolate milk and that seemed to work well.
  • On Monday night Carrie, Shallan and the girls came out for dinner since all of our husbands were travelling.  It was a nice change of pace and so enjoyable to have them all over.

  • Ben was gone Monday-Thursday which made some things harder and some things easier.  For example, I didn’t cook all week!  I ate leftovers, cheese and crackers or macaroni and cheese with the kids.  It was kind of nice.  But of course spending evenings and all night alone can be hard.  And of course I chose to start watching The Following (a terrific show about an escaped serial killer and his cult following) while Ben was gone.  So of course I heard all kinds of noises when I went to bed at night and wondered if I had in fact locked all the doors.  Carson started to act a little more sassy and defiant after he hadn’t seen Ben in a couple of days.  Boys do need their dads.
  • Betsy and I went to IKEA then had lunch and ice cream with Carrie on Wednesday.

  • We ate popsicles on Thursday.  It’s getting warmer and more lovely outside so I know we need to take advantage of it before it’s downright hot and uncomfortable.

  • We went to Toys R Us today to check out playhouses and wound up having a really fun time!

  • Kate and Steve came in on Friday night.  On Saturday we went to Memorial Park, had lunch, then I went to a baby shower.

  • On Sunday we went to church, had lunch, Kate and Steve headed home, everyone took a nap (except for Ben who took a run) and then we went to a pizza dinner at church.  It was a full weekend and it went by so quickly I wasn’t totally prepared for it to be over.
