I had an appointment yesterday. I had both Carson and Betsy with me and they did great. Carson and Dr. Philips were fast friends! When she was measuring me and checking the baby’s heartbeat Carson was a little weirded out, and kept asking if I was all done. He also kept asking after we left if I got a shot. Doctors=shots for a 3 year old.
I talked to her about the possibility of induction since Ben starts trial on June 17th and my due date is June 19th. Ben will likely leave on the 14th or 15th, so I asked her what her thoughts were on the issue. She said the earliest she could do was a week, June 12th. I do not want to be induced, but we went ahead and scheduled it for that day. I want Ben there, and he doesn’t want to miss the baby being born, so we figured this was the best way to deal with our little predicament. I am hopeful that I’ll go in to labor before being induced, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Regardless, we will be a family of 5 in less than 6 weeks!
Baby is the size of a pineapple this week according to the baby app on my phone. I feel ok, not terribly huge yet. My heartburn is much better after discovering zantac. I’ve gained about 20 pounds…I think. I’ve kind of lost track. I worried about and monitored my weight gain in the beginning, but have stopped weighing myself so much because it’s just a silly thing to bother myself with. If I’m gaining too much or too little my doctor will let me know. Bring on the upsized fries and milkshakes at Chick-fil-A, please.
