We had a 2 month check up for Christopher last week. He is 24.5 inches “tall” (95%), weighs 12 pounds 10 ounces (57%) and his head is 15.5 inches (56%). He got 3 shots and one oral vaccine at his appointment and that made for a rough afternoon, but that evening was fine.
He is still in size 1 diapers and is wearing 3 month clothing. I’ve only dressed him in pants twice. It’s just too hot. He wears onesies most of the time and sometimes I swaddle him in just a diaper for bed.
He took a bottle for the first time a couple weeks ago and did great, a nice change from Betsy who never really took one.
He takes a pacifier well and these Wubbanubs are really smart and super cute. They stay put easier and he has something to hold on to. Christopher has a duck and a cow.
Not much has changed as far as what he’s doing since last month. More eye contact and still smiling a lot. He looks more like a baby and less like an infant. He’s also stronger and is doing better on his tummy, even though he hates it.
He is still a generally happy baby and is content most of the time. Early evenings are the hardest for him (and all of us as a result). Going to bed for the night is hard. He’s more alert, so I think that has something to do with it. Carson and Betsy are crazy in the evening and maybe all that noise and chaos makes it hard for him to settle. I don’t really know. Last night I thought he’d be going down for the night around 7, but Ben and I were up and down the stairs until midnight. He takes 3-4 naps a day, and none are very long. An hour to an hour and a half usually, but his evening nap can be as short as 30 minutes. Needless to say, we don’t have an established routine. But that will come…
