After school treat This is the first and last time I take both kids by myself for yogurt.  Well, maybe when Carson can handle a spoon and not spill all over himself.  When does that happen?  10 years old?  That’s when we’ll go again.  In 2020.

A visit with Grandpa This morning we met up with my parents and Mark and Kris for gospel brunch at Threadgill’s before we headed back to Houston.   Carson and Betsy fell asleep right after we left lunch, but 45 minutes later they woke up in Bastrop because there’s always something going on in … [Read more…]

In the yard We were going to go to the lake this weekend.  But then it rained a bunch and Ben had a ton of work to do.  So I took the kids up to Austin and Ben stayed in Houston to work.  Kind of lame for Ben, and we really missed him.  But I … [Read more…]

In the rain It rained pretty much all day today.  We went outside to watch it this afternoon and Carson walked right out in the yard and had a blast getting wet and running around, which is kind of out of character. We all somehow ended up getting wet and despite my best efforts … [Read more…]

12 Month Check Up This girl had no clue what she was in for today.  It was all fun and paper tearing and smiling at nurses and stealing Dr. Schlegel’s heart until the nurse brought in a tray of 5, yes FIVE, needles.  It was painful to see her go from smiles to tears in … [Read more…]

Sleeping Betsy took a morning nap today!  This doesn’t always happen.  And to make it even more out of the ordinary, she slept for 2 and a half hours.  I don’t know when I’ll stop thinking the worst when it comes to the kids sleeping for a long time.  Almost always I have a thought … [Read more…]

Coffee date Betsy and I met up with some friends for coffee today, something I have not done in a long time…over a year I think.  It was lovely.  Carson was in school so it was good to be able to sit and drink my coffee instead of playing chase the whole time like I … [Read more…]

Bubble gun When I first bought this, back in May or June I think, Carson didn’t even want me to press the button the blow bubbles.  Now he likes to do it himself.  He likes to do lots of things, “by myself” these days!
