Cheeks<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em>Betsy has such a round, squishy, kissable face. \u00a0Chubby baby cheeks are the best. \u00a0I am so thankful for this girl and for her big brother who is so sweet and loving to her. \u00a0He did try to sit on her today, but not in a mean way. \u00a0He just doesn’t quite understand that he can sit on me and Ben and we can play rough, but Betsy is just not there yet. \u00a0She will be before we know it, and I’m sure she’ll be able to hold her own. \u00a0But she didn’t cry any of the times he tried it today. \u00a0She thought it was pretty funny.<\/p>\n

Today I watched way too much about the Boston bombings. \u00a0This morning, after everyone was dressed and ready to go run a few errands, I sat in front of the TV and watched the coverage in Watertown, just waiting for something to happen. \u00a0After some time I decided that I couldn’t just sit and wait, so we left. \u00a0It turned out that nothing more happened until this evening. \u00a0We watched as they took\u00a0Dzhokhar Tsarnaev into custody. \u00a0It is amazing to me how much technology and intelligence this country has. \u00a0So much of it we don’t even know about, which is actually a little frightening. \u00a0The bombings took place on Monday, and by the end of the work week both men had been identified and found. \u00a0All of it seemed like movie material, from the marathon to the guy hiding in the boat. \u00a0I am thankful for the men and women who were involved in finding these brothers, and I am also saddened by the lives lost, the people injured, and the evil that exists in the world. \u00a0When we were watching the coverage tonight, Carson asked what we were watching on TV. \u00a0All I could think to say was that the police were looking for a bad man. \u00a0I don’t envy parents who had to explain more than that to their kids, which made me wonder what parents said to their children after the Newtown shootings. \u00a0How do you explain something like that to a child? \u00a0It just seems so pointless. \u00a0And I won’t go off too much about the Gosnell trial (if you know me, you know how I feel about it), but it breaks my heart and has me wondering how it is possible for people to take a life so callously. \u00a0Boston, Newtown and Gosnell may not seem to have much in common except that in each case, someone thought they had the right to take life. \u00a0I am thankful that God is in control of it all, even when we can’t understand why terrible things happen all around us. \u00a0I can’t understand or explain it, but I can continue to trust in His sovereignty and pray for our country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
