Candace and Micah<\/em><\/p>\n

What a wonderful day we had! \u00a0I’m having a hard time remembering the last weekday that was this enjoyable. \u00a0It started out not so great. \u00a0Betsy wouldn’t go down for her morning nap. \u00a0I was supposed to meet Candace at 11, so I couldn’t just wait it out. \u00a0I ended up giving in to Betsy’s demands and getting her up. \u00a0She slept in the car for 25 minutes. \u00a0We had lunch, Carson ran around, and we stayed there talking until 2. \u00a0And no one had a breakdown!<\/p>\n

Even though it wasn’t a leisurely or relaxing lunch, and I had to get up and chase Carson down quite a few times, it was wonderful. \u00a0The Burmasters are moving to Russia in July, so we need to have many more playdates in the next few months. \u00a0It’s kind of ridiculous that we haven’t spent more time together since moving to Houston. \u00a0It’s a good lesson in appreciating what you have and making the most of it because you never know how long it will last. \u00a0I plan to make the most of the next couple of months.<\/p>\n

I took the long way home so that both kids would sleep, and they did. \u00a0When we got back at 2:45 Betsy was still asleep, so I let her sleep in the car (with frequent checks!) and she slept until 3:30! \u00a0I fed her and then we all sat in the back yard and played until 5. \u00a0Still no breakdowns and almost no fussiness from anyone. \u00a0It was so wonderful to be able to just enjoy Carson and Betsy without the pressure of cleaning anything up, cooking anything, or doing any laundry. \u00a0I’ll have to catch up on all that this weekend, but it was worth it.<\/p>\n

Carson wanted to play with these boys, but they were older and obviously had an organized game going. \u00a0Carson kind of intruded. \u00a0It was pretty funny. \u00a0Notice Batman? \u00a0Not sure what that was all about…<\/p>\n

Candace had to go get something and so I got to hold both babies while I followed Carson around. \u00a0People gave me some great looks.<\/p>\n
