School Stuff<\/em><\/p>\n

Carson starts Children’s Day Out at The School for Little Children one week from today! \u00a0I went to the parent meeting tonight and met his teachers and some of the other parents of the kids that will be in his class. \u00a0It’s hard to believe it’s so close even though we’ve had this planned since last spring. \u00a0I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. \u00a0I’m going to miss him those two days of the week. \u00a0I’m sure I’ll get some things done that I wouldn’t have otherwise, I’ll get more one on one time with Betsy, and he’s going to have a blast, but it’s still hard. \u00a0It’s the first stage in really letting go with Carson. \u00a0He’ll be experiencing new things without me. \u00a0Learning new things without me. \u00a0And he’s going to come home telling me about events and things that I won’t have the context for. \u00a0All this time I thought I was an easy going mom, but it turns out I am pretty attached to this child and I have some control issues! \u00a0Ben could have told you that, though.<\/p>\n

We had lunch at Chick fil A (of course!) with Shallan. \u00a0My kids were angels. \u00a0Then we spent some time at Home Goods looking at rugs for the bathroom. \u00a0I had no clue it would be so hard to find a coral patterned bath mat. \u00a0They were both again complete angels. \u00a0Sweet, little angels. \u00a0It was wonderful. \u00a0Carson was polite and struck up conversations with just about everyone we passed, he said good morning (even though it was after noon) and said excuse me when we passed people. \u00a0Betsy was happy and smiled at everyone. \u00a0We came home, watched an Umi Zoomi and the kids went down for naps and slept until 4 (Betsy) and 6 (Carson). \u00a0Today was kind of amazing.<\/p>\n

Carrie and the girls came out this afternoon. \u00a0She helped me with some design woes. \u00a0We ate dinner, then I went to my meeting and they stayed with the kids. \u00a0Thank you, yet again, for saving the day Hartmans! \u00a0They left a little while after I got back. \u00a0While I was gone Carrie said that Carson was telling her a story, he paused, looked at her then asked, “And then you know what?” she said, “What, buddy?” and then he continued with the story. \u00a0I have never heard him do that, but I know for a fact that I do that with him when we’re talking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
