\"\"<\/a>Technically 38 weeks and a 1 day. \u00a0But who’s counting? \u00a0Ben and I went to a lawyer dinner function tonight and I wore the only fancy maternity item I own (and it’s not even mine). \u00a0Good thing we don’t go to a lot of these functions or I would be referred to as “that pregnant girl in the black and white dress”. \u00a0Some of you may recognize it from the baby shower and the 33 week belly shot, and my date night with Ben, and from church a few weeks ago. \u00a0Yes, I have worn it more than once.<\/p>\n

I went to the doctor last Thursday and I was 2 cm…which doesn’t mean anything at all really as far as how soon the big day will be here. \u00a0So, we wait. \u00a0And we try so very hard to wait patiently, but that has not been very easy for me. \u00a0I have to continue to remind myself that Baby Z will come when he\/she is good and ready…and that day is just not today! \u00a0Or tomorrow…or the next day…but it will be someday.<\/p>\n

Ben and I had a dinner date this past weekend since those will be few and far between once the baby is here. \u00a0It was lovely. \u00a0I made 3 casseroles on Saturday to stash in the freezer for quick meals once baby is here. \u00a0I got my hair cut and colored. \u00a0I bought some baby books this afternoon to start reading up on what to do with baby once he\/she arrives. \u00a0I keep checking things off my list thinking that that one last thing will make us totally prepared for baby. \u00a0But then something else comes up. \u00a0Like that dust bunny in the corner reminding me that I should sweep again and probably clean the baseboards while I’m at it. \u00a0There will always be something else that “must” get done. \u00a0And I will keep doing those things to keep myself occupied while we wait…and wait some more.<\/p>\n

On the bright side, I feel pretty great. \u00a0I can still sleep at night, except for the 2-3 trips to the bathroom. \u00a0I am still working and enjoying it. \u00a0I don’t find myself terribly uncomfortable. \u00a0Baby Z is still moving around a lot, and we are both healthy. \u00a0So, I am thankful for all of those blessings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
