Every day this week we did something or had someone over, which is great and makes the day go by faster, and is good for me and the kids, but also makes me totally exhausted and means I’m not home during my most productive time of the day, the morning. \u00a0So I didn’t get as much done this week as I’d planned to. \u00a0But isn’t that the case every week?<\/p>\n

We had some friends over Monday morning. \u00a0The little girl stayed with us while the mom took her son to the doctor near our house. \u00a0The kids played well together but she was more than ready to leave when her mom got back. \u00a0She is a little older than Betsy, and her brother is about 6 months older than Carson but much more reserved and less of a crazy child. \u00a0So I think she was ready to be back in a less chaotic environment.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday we played at the Sugar Creek playscape<\/a>\u00a0with some women from church who also have young kids. \u00a0It’s\u00a0a great indoor playground that is perfect for either super cold (like we’ve been having) or super hot weather, or on\u00a0rainy days. \u00a0It’s really great and open to the public during certain hours on certain days. \u00a0Definitely worth knowing about if you’re ever in this part of the Houston suburbs. \u00a0Then we went to Target where I had to take Carson to the bathroom. \u00a0After we left the bathroom I looked down and saw an HEB sticker on my sweater. \u00a0We went to HEB yesterday. \u00a0Not sure how long this had been there.<\/p>\n

\"2-52-1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Carson went back to school on Wednesday. \u00a0Wearing underwear. \u00a0With 2 pairs of clean underwear and pants in his bag. \u00a0I was curious to see what he’d be wearing when I picked him up. \u00a0To my surprise he was in the same pants! \u00a0His teachers said he did a great job. \u00a0I went to the doctor for my monthly checkup. \u00a017 weeks this week and everything was good. \u00a0Betsy and I ran a few errands before heading home for a nap. \u00a0We picked Carson up and after that no one napped. \u00a0Carson needed one. \u00a0He’s been taking 3 hour afternoon naps at home and adjusting to the hour one he gets a school isn’t easy for anybody.<\/p>\n

Carson did get a treat for having such a good day at school and not having to use his extra change of clothes!<\/p>\n

Betsy is climbing up onto everything. \u00a0Sometimes I watch her do it, making sure it’s not too dangerous, and other times I walk into a room and there she is. \u00a0Just hanging out on top of my desk where she’s thrown everything that was on it onto the floor. \u00a0Including a little tack hammer. \u00a0Glad Carson didn’t get that one in the head.<\/p>\n

\"2-52-2\"<\/a><\/p>\n

On Thursday we met up with Carrie at IKEA. \u00a0I’m starting to think about what to do in the room that Carson and Betsy will share once the new baby comes. \u00a0IKEA is a dangerous place to go when you’re only beginning to think about what to do in a new space. \u00a0Thankfully I was too overwhelmed thinking about what to do that I didn’t buy a room full of furniture and bedding and accessories. \u00a0I didn’t buy a thing for their new room, which was good. \u00a0I have no clue where to begin.<\/p>\n

On Friday we played with some friends then had lunch at Five Guys (the only place we go to other than Chick fil A) and then I thought I’d try to run an errand before we went home for naps. \u00a0Mistake. \u00a0We were really all just too tired and should have gone straight home. \u00a0Carson wasn’t listening to me at the store and almost knocked something over while we were there. \u00a0I told him he had to ride in the cart and he screamed bloody murder so we left. \u00a0A wasted trip really, but it taught me a good lesson, one I will likely have to re-learn. \u00a0My life is no longer my own. \u00a0Not in a bad way, but in a way that requires me to put two little people’s needs ahead of my own wants. \u00a0I wanted to go look at some furniture, but they needed to go to bed. \u00a0So I didn’t look at furniture. \u00a0I wasn’t exactly happy about it and I took it out on both of them. \u00a0But when we got home Carson gave me a big hug and told me he loved me. \u00a0I didn’t deserve that. \u00a0I had been nasty and said some not so nice things to him on the way out of the store and on the way home about him making things so difficult. \u00a0It made me feel pretty guilty for being so terrible. \u00a0For some reason they still love me and want me around.<\/p>\n

\"2-52-3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Saturday was gorgeous. \u00a0We took a family bike ride, I got some cleaning done and then we went out for dinner during which Ben said, “This is exhausting.” \u00a0Amen. \u00a0But Carson ate all of his spaghetti! \u00a0That’s a big deal. \u00a0Betsy ate almost nothing.<\/p>\n

Sunday we went to church, then to lunch…at Five Guys! \u00a0Then we decided to drive to Galveston. \u00a0Just because we can. \u00a0We walked on the beach, ate dinner (again, an exhausting experience) and drove back home.<\/p>\n
