<\/a><\/p>\nThis self portrait was his second draft. \u00a0The first one he did on the original paper, but he “messed up the hair!” and was very insistent on starting over. \u00a0So we cut a new piece of paper and taped it over the original. \u00a0He was very worried that Ms. Nguyen was going to be mad that we did it, but I assured him it would be just fine. \u00a0He wrote everything himself with just some spelling help and reminders about what letters looked like.<\/p>\n
He’s doing great and really likes school so far. \u00a0Almost every day he gets in the car and when I ask him how the day went he’ll say it was “Great!” and one time I got “It was the best day EVER, mom!” as his response. \u00a0He’s told me a few sad stories about kids not wanting to play with him, and one kid even said “No one cares about you, Carson” \u00a0and apparently he had to sit our for 2 minutes at recess for saying it. \u00a0Hard to know what the total truth is, but while he said it hurt his feelings he doesn’t seem too broken up about it anymore. \u00a0I want him to be happy, for no one to ever say a mean word to him, and for everything to be rosy at school. \u00a0But life isn’t like that, so school will not be like that. \u00a0I am hopeful that he and I, and the other kids as well once they start school, will just be able to talk about it all and learn from the sad times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Ben was running on about 3 hours of sleep today, so after church and lunch he came home and took a nap while the kids napped. \u00a0After that he went back to work. \u00a0Carson and I worked on this assignment for school.
