We had our 15 month check up last week with our new pediatrician here in Houston. \u00a0She was wonderful and made me feel better about Carson’s head being in the 81st percentile. \u00a0He weighs 25 pounds (58%) and is 30 inches tall (25%).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I feel like I can’t keep up with every funny and entertaining thing Carson does. \u00a0When he does something cute I find myself wishing I’d had my camera out and then spend the next 20 minutes trying to get him to do it again and trying to capture it, which is almost always\u00a0unsuccessful. \u00a0But I will try to at least list the things he is doing these days and include some pictures.<\/p>\n

The boy loves the dishwasher. \u00a0I have to be really clever about when I load or empty it. \u00a0If he’s around he wants to “help” me by taking out utensils and throwing them on the floor, or by getting up in it and hanging out.<\/p>\n

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m going to talk about it again because it has just been so wonderful. \u00a0I made Carson his own little book nook. \u00a0It’s just a small shelf where I put some of his books and a basket of little toys, all of which he can pull off, play with, throw around, etc. without me saying “No” or taking him away from it. \u00a0When he started showing a love for my cookbook shelf, and tearing the cover of one of my favorites, I knew he needed his own space. \u00a0Most of the time all I have to say is, “Where are Carson’s books?” and he heads over there to find one he wants to read. \u00a0Best idea I’ve ever had.<\/p>\n

Having books within easy reach has increased his desire for me to read to him. \u00a0He finds one and walks over to me, holding it in the air and making a noise that I think means “Read this is me now or I’ll get louder about it and you won’t be able to resist me!”. \u00a0Every time we finish he holds it up and says something that I know must mean “Again!” \u00a0His favorite books and ones that he seems to pull off the shelf more often than any others are “Goodnight Moon” and a dinosaur counting book. \u00a0There are a few books that I do not like reading and I have developed very negative feelings toward, and those have since been taken off the shelf. \u00a0If he stops me in the kitchen and I just kneel down on the floor to read he’ll back up into me and try to sit in my lap. \u00a0It is pretty adorable.<\/p>\n

Ben and Carson have some bonding time every night. \u00a0I go work on dinner while they sit on the couch for a while (although sitting for very long is getting harder for Carson). \u00a0Last week they were sitting together and Carson looked up at Ben and said “Dada” then “Ni Ni” and then he laid his head on Ben’s arm and put his fingers in his mouth.<\/p>\n

Carson is talking a lot of gibberish. \u00a0He does say Mama, Dada, Ball, Button, Bye Bye, Hi, Ni Ni and then a few words that all kind of sound the same to me, but mean totally different things to Carson. \u00a0I really like when he sits and plays and talks to himself, or to his toys. \u00a0He uses a lot of inflection. \u00a0Here he is showing off some animal sounds and “Tick Tock” that Ben taught him from Goodnight Moon. \u00a0He’s a little distracted by the fact that I turned the iphone camera around so he could see himself. \u00a0Can you tell how cute he thinks he is?<\/p>\n
