Waiting<\/em><\/p>\n

I had an appointment with my doctor yesterday. \u00a0I’ll be honest with you. \u00a0I was kind of hoping I wouldn’t make it to that appointment because I would have already had our baby. \u00a0Well, no baby. \u00a0So I went to my appointment and nothing had changed since last week. \u00a0I was pretty bummed about that. \u00a0I had a lot of contractions and some serious ligament pain last week so I figured I was progressing at least a little bit. \u00a0It was not to be. \u00a0So I continue to practice patience and try not to think about it too much. \u00a0That is not easy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I’ve tried Mexican food and a glass of red wine (as suggested by a friend of my mother-in-law) Thai food (which was what worked with Carson) and raspberry tea. \u00a0I try to do some walking indoors, mostly at Target and HEB, since it is just too hot and humid to walk outside even early in the morning. \u00a0Houston, you are killing me! \u00a0I guess she’s just going to come when she’s good and ready, and I do hope that that is sometime soon.<\/p>\n

One of the great things about baby girl not making her appearance before this past weekend is that we were able to host a little dinner with friends last Saturday night. \u00a0We had 10 adults, 2 little babies, 2 toddlers and my favorite 3 school aged girls who helped with the little guys. \u00a0All the men at our house were attorneys. \u00a0They spent a lot of time outside around the grill with beers in hand while the ladies sat around the kitchen table and shared labor stories. \u00a0It was pretty funny, but that’s what you get when you put 2 pregnant women, 2 women who’ve just had babies and 1 who’s had 3 in the same room! \u00a0It was a real treat to have people in the new house. \u00a0We are blessed to have so many sweet friends who are willing to drive out to the burbs.<\/p>\n

The Nursery!<\/em><\/p>\n

Baby Girl’s nursery turned out to be pretty cute. \u00a0We did more work for Carson’s nursery. \u00a0By “we” I mean my mother-in-law who made his sweet birdie bedding, recovered a glider for him and painted the bathroom attached to his room in the Amarillo house. \u00a0Ben and I did paint his room. \u00a0I made a birdie mobile as well as some bird wall art. \u00a0With the move happening so close to baby girl’s arrival, I didn’t know how pulled together it would be. \u00a0Surprisingly, it looks just lovely…at least I think it does. \u00a0And it feels good. \u00a0I like to sit in there and look at everything and think about the little girl who will soon be with us.<\/p>\n

Originally I wanted to do pink and grey, keeping it simple and modern. \u00a0As I obtained things both used and new, that original idea turned into something a little different, but I’m so happy with how cheerful and sweet it is. \u00a0It also has things of mine and Ben’s from when we were just babies. \u00a0They mean something and there’s a story behind them instead of just matching a color scheme or fitting with a theme.<\/p>\n

Hand knit bonnet is a gift from a family friend.<\/em><\/p>\n

When Ben was born someone brought flowers in this Baby cup. \u00a0<\/em>Kate gave us flowers in the same holder when Carson was born.<\/em><\/p>\n

I can’t wait to put this sweet rosette headband on our baby girl!<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Hopefully the next post I write will be from the hospital introducing baby girl! \u00a0If it’s not, my 39 week post is going to be full of frustration…<\/p>\n
