In his new birthday coat.<\/em><\/p>\nAt his appointment he was in the 91% for weight at 32 pounds. \u00a0Height of 36 inches is the 87%. \u00a0She said while he is a big kid, his weight to height ratio is good. \u00a0He’s on track to be 6 feet tall if you double his height. \u00a0But I don’t see that happening. \u00a0Based on my and Ben’s height, he should be 5’8″. \u00a0I think the nurse didn’t get an accurate measurement since he was squirming like crazy. \u00a0We’ll see.<\/p>\n
Every single thing they did to check him, including simply standing on a scale, was like torture. \u00a0I’d blame it on the fact that he had a bit of a cold, or that I think he’s getting his molars, but really I think he just hates to be messed with. \u00a0It was really rough. \u00a0And to make it all worse he had to get 3 shots and a finger prick. \u00a0I have never held that kid so tight. \u00a0He just screamed and fought the entire time. \u00a0But when the nurse or the doctor would leave the room he still would sweetly say “bye” through his tears. \u00a0Betsy slept through it all. \u00a0It was a miracle and the best thing that could have happened to us.<\/p>\n
Carson talks a lot, and I’m able to communicate with him fairly well and visa versa. \u00a0It’s so nice that he’s able to tell me what he wants or needs instead of me having to guess and him (both of us) getting frustrated. \u00a0Although there are some times when I am at a loss. \u00a0Today he kept asking for something that sounded like alligator. \u00a0I can’t think of a time I’ve talked about alligators, and can’t think of anything on the shows he watches having to do with alligators. \u00a0So he just cried about it until something else got his attention.<\/p>\n
I need to start writing down the things he says. \u00a0Here are some that I can recall.<\/p>\n
The other day he pulled two of his cars out from under a pillow and said, “Hey! Good morning, guys!”<\/p>\n
I made some cardboard cars for his birthday and we still have one in the living room. \u00a0He gets in it, closes the door, and then says “Nice weekend!” \u00a0Again, not sure where this came from, but I am sure it’s something we’ve said.<\/p>\n
When we ask him where he’s going when he gets in the car he says “post office” and when we ask him what he’s going to do there he says “mail a package.” \u00a0I do know where this came from. \u00a0In the car a month or so ago I used Siri on my iphone to get directions to the post office. \u00a0That began Carson’s obsession with the post office. \u00a0When he gets a hold of my phone and manages to get Siri, he asks for the post office. \u00a0The part about mailing a package came about when my mom and I went to send something to Aunt Sarah. \u00a0My mom told Carson we were going to the post office to mail a package, and that has stuck with him. \u00a0It’s amazing to me how doing something, going somewhere or saying something even one time can make such an impression.<\/p>\n
Recently when playing with his cars he says he’s going to Gramma’s house.<\/p>\n
My parents have a T-Rex toy at their house. \u00a0He just called it a dinosaur. \u00a0Then my day told him more specifically that it was a T-rex. \u00a0He can’t say “x” very well. \u00a0So that dinosaur is “t-rekkus”. \u00a0It’s pretty cute. \u00a0So cute that I don’t even correct him. \u00a0I call him t-rekkus, too. \u00a0He got Rex from Toy Story for his birthday and he loves him.<\/p>\n
We’ve taught\/trained him to say “Gig ’em Aggies”.<\/p>\n
