I had an incredible, dare I say life changing, experience of tasting some treats from a specialty food store in Amarillo yesterday. \u00a0We’ve all tried chocolate covered strawberries, but they seem a little bit dated and ordinary to me. \u00a0Not to say that I don’t like them, I do. \u00a0This may not be news to everyone, but it was news to me…you can cover different fresh fruits in chocolate!<\/p>\n

I had the opportunity to try a banana coated half in white chocolate and half in dark chocolate. \u00a0Chocolate and banana are great together, so this didn’t seem totally out of the ordinary. \u00a0And it was delicious. \u00a0The combination of texture, crunchy chocolate and soft banana. \u00a0The flavors were also spectacular. \u00a0I preferred the white chocolate side, but that may just be me.<\/p>\n

I also tried dark chocolate covered red grapes. \u00a0I was skeptical at first and didn’t expect them to pair well together. \u00a0Well, I was wrong. \u00a0Again, the texture contrast and the taste combinations were great.<\/p>\n

I might even try this recipe<\/a> at some point to attempt to recreate my experience. \u00a0I think one dipping trick would be to dip the grapes in chocolate using toothpicks and letting them dry by sticking the toothpicks upright in foam. \u00a0Once they’re hardened, remove the toothpicks and serve. \u00a0Nice little bites of goodness.<\/p>\n

Here are a few more fruit dipping tips<\/a>. \u00a0With summer coming and some fruits becoming more and more delicious, this could be a nice option for a dessert treat that isn’t a big piece of chocolate cake but still gives you a chocolate fix. \u00a0Also, you can use the fruit as an excuse to eat chocolate since we all know fruit is good for you, and little chocolate really never hurt anyone.<\/p>\n
