{"id":124,"date":"2008-08-22T00:22:54","date_gmt":"2008-08-22T06:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carrieandben.benzinnecker.com\/blog\/?p=124"},"modified":"2009-12-01T23:09:57","modified_gmt":"2009-12-02T05:09:57","slug":"candy-corn-kisses-and-halloween-dreams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/22\/candy-corn-kisses-and-halloween-dreams\/","title":{"rendered":"Candy Corn Kisses and Halloween Dreams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imagine my surprise as I walk to the checkout at Target (arms loaded with goodies since I refused to get a basket thinking that would keep me from over shopping&#8230;silly me) and I see a special on Hershey&#8217;s Kisses.\u00a0 I approach the display and see the original Milk Chocolate Kisses, Milk Chocolate with Almonds and then I see it&#8230;new candy!\u00a0 The heavens opened and angels sang from above.\u00a0 I love new candy flavors and Hershey&#8217;s Kisses always seem to have something special surrounding every holiday.\u00a0 But wait, it is August.\u00a0 The last time I checked the First Day of School is no holiday and Labor Day doesn&#8217;t deserve a special edition candy.\u00a0 They were&#8230;brace yourselves&#8230;HALLOWEEN CANDY!\u00a0 Two months early.\u00a0 What is this world coming to?\u00a0 Nonetheless, I take a look at the new flavors.\u00a0 One is Pumpkin Spice and the other is Candy Corn.\u00a0 Intriguing.\u00a0 This mysterious candy hooked me and impulse beat up will-power and common sense with one blow.\u00a0 I bought them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/camdycornkisses.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-125 alignnone\" title=\"camdycornkisses\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/camdycornkisses.jpg?resize=400%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/camdycornkisses.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/camdycornkisses.jpg?resize=300%2C225 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love candy corn.\u00a0 I will eat them until I am in a sugar induced coma.\u00a0 A friend in college introduced me to the candy corn and peanut mix.\u00a0 The sweet and salty combination aids in reducing my sugary sickness.\u00a0 Enough about my love for a pretty disgusting candy&#8230;more about the Kisses.\u00a0 The wrapping on the Kisses is cute.\u00a0 Silver, orange and yellow just like a candy corn!\u00a0 Ingenious.\u00a0 I proceed to unwrap this little 4.5 gram wonder and the Kiss is also candy corn colored and layered!\u00a0 Adorable.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/candycorn1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-127\" title=\"candycorn1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/candycorn1.jpg?resize=480%2C329\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/candycorn1.jpg?w=480 480w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/candycorn1.jpg?resize=300%2C205 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am a bit nervous about tasting this candy, so to postpone the inevitable I smell it first and then shove it in Ben&#8217;s face so that he can give me his opinion on whether or not to consume it.\u00a0 It smells sickeningly sweet.\u00a0 We agree on that.\u00a0 Ben refused to try the Kiss because he truly hates candy corn.\u00a0 I am a brave woman who enjoys a challenge, so I take a bite.\u00a0 The texture is much different than a true candy corn;
