{"id":1607,"date":"2009-09-08T10:48:06","date_gmt":"2009-09-08T16:48:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/?p=1607"},"modified":"2009-09-08T10:48:43","modified_gmt":"2009-09-08T16:48:43","slug":"firecracker-chocolate-bar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/08\/firecracker-chocolate-bar\/","title":{"rendered":"Firecracker Chocolate Bar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I saw this confection at Wal-Mart the other day, \u00a0and I was intrigued. \u00a0I was also impressed that Wal-Mart was selling something so trendy and chic&#8230; in the world of chocolate anyway. \u00a0The bar is made by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chuaochocolatier.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Chuao Chocolatier<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1650\" title=\"firecrackers\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/firecrackers.jpg?resize=400%2C376\" alt=\"firecrackers\" width=\"400\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/firecrackers.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/firecrackers.jpg?resize=300%2C282 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Online this bar goes for $6.00 a piece. \u00a0I got mine at Wal-Mart for $4.00! \u00a0Anyway, I was not expecting to like this combination of dark chocolate, chipotle, salt and popping candy&#8230;aka Pop Rocks! \u00a0Pop Rocks? \u00a0Even if I didn&#8217;t like it, I didn&#8217;t care. \u00a0How could someone <em>not<\/em> at least try something with Pop Rocks in it? \u00a0I hadn&#8217;t had Pop Rocks in a while, and I knew there was no better time than now to have them as an adult. \u00a0This is an &#8220;adult&#8221; candy bar. \u00a0The dark 60 % cacao chocolate, spicy chipotle and salt would not appeal to many kids.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1649\" title=\"firecracker2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/firecracker2.jpg?resize=500%2C194\" alt=\"firecracker2\" width=\"500\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/firecracker2.jpg?w=500 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/firecracker2.jpg?resize=300%2C116 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The flavor of the bar was actaully very nice. \u00a0The bittersweet chocolate was complemented well by the subtle spice of the chipotle and salt. \u00a0The pop rocks don&#8217;t hit you at first. \u00a0You can sense the crunch immediately. \u00a0The popping begins as the candy melts and the carbon dioxide gas inside the pop rocks is released creating an audible pop and a bubbling sensation in your mouth. \u00a0So fun! \u00a0I liked this candy bar. \u00a0I wouldn&#8217;t have one everyday, but it would make a fun little gift or a candy bar to share with a few people. \u00a0I will probably try some of the other Chuao flavors now. \u00a0They have a new Panko Bar coming this fall, and a Spicy Maya being sold online and maybe at Wal-Mart&#8230;so, go get yourself one.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0;float:none;height:70px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/08\/firecracker-chocolate-bar\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"400\" show_faces=\"true\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I saw this confection at Wal-Mart the other day, \u00a0and I was intrigued. \u00a0I was also impressed that Wal-Mart was selling something so trendy and chic&#8230; in the world of chocolate anyway. \u00a0The bar is made by Chuao Chocolatier.
