\u00a0I love getting the huge ones at bakeries that I always knew as elephant ears. \u00a0My sister thinks they are a waste of calories, but my mom and I love them. \u00a0Crunchy, sweet, rich, and buttery. \u00a0Perfection.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1845\" title=\"palmier2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/palmier2.jpg?resize=400%2C317\" alt=\"palmier2\" width=\"400\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/palmier2.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/palmier2.jpg?resize=300%2C237 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I made a sweet and a savory palmier. \u00a0These are so easy. \u00a0Roll out your puff pastry to 1\/8 inch thickness. \u00a0Sprinkle your goodies on the dough and roll both ends evenly to marry in the middle. \u00a0Chill the rolled dough for 30 minutes. \u00a0Err on the side of longer chilling time to make the slicing easier. \u00a0After the dough is chilled, slice 1\/4 inch pieces and place flat on a baking sheet covered in parchment or a silpat. \u00a0Bake for 10-15 minutes in a 400 degree oven. \u00a0Cool for 5 minutes or so&#8230;then enjoy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1846\" title=\"palmier1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/palmier1.jpg?resize=400%2C386\" alt=\"palmier1\" width=\"400\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/palmier1.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/palmier1.jpg?resize=300%2C289 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>I think that maybe I didn&#8217;t use enough pastry, or maybe I did not roll it out thin enough. \u00a0I was hoping for more layers, and that just didn&#8217;t happen. \u00a0They still tasted divine, but not as filled with goodness as I was hoping. \u00a0I will definitely try them again, especially the savory ones. \u00a0I loved the flavor of the parmesan\u00a0with the pastry and tomatoes. \u00a0They are such an impressive appetizer, and with store bought puff pastry, would be incredibly easy. \u00a0Check out this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.videojug.com\/film\/how-to-make-palmiers\">how-to<\/a> if you need more detailed instructions. \u00a0I actually wish I&#8217;d watched this before I made mine!
