{"id":1875,"date":"2009-10-05T18:43:03","date_gmt":"2009-10-06T00:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/?p=1875"},"modified":"2009-10-05T18:53:51","modified_gmt":"2009-10-06T00:53:51","slug":"piranha-sushi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/05\/piranha-sushi\/","title":{"rendered":"Piranha Sushi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend we traveled to Fort Worth to spend the weekend with some college friends. \u00a0Texas A&amp;M played Arkansas at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, so they guys in our group went to the game on Saturday night. \u00a0We brought our dog who enjoyed the company of Kolby and Candace&#8217;s baby, Samson.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1879\" title=\"dogs1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/dogs1.jpg?resize=300%2C238\" alt=\"dogs1\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While the boys were at the football game, the ladies got a babysitter for Scott and Jennifer&#8217;s sweet baby girl and went out to dinner. \u00a0Jennifer suggested a sushi place she&#8217;d been wanting to try; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piranhakillersushi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Piranha Killer Sushi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1886\" title=\"sushi9\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi9.jpg?resize=225%2C285\" alt=\"sushi9\" width=\"225\" height=\"285\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1882\" title=\"sushi13\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi13.jpg?resize=225%2C283\" alt=\"sushi13\" width=\"225\" height=\"283\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1894\" title=\"sushi1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi1.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"sushi1\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1884\" title=\"sushi11\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi11.jpg?resize=225%2C273\" alt=\"sushi11\" width=\"225\" height=\"273\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A friend in high school took me out to sushi one summer when we were both home from college. \u00a0He did all the ordering. \u00a0His dad lived in Japan for a while and my friend had gone to visit a few times. \u00a0So he was pretty educated in the ways of sushi. \u00a0I just sat back and enjoyed it&#8230;and let him pay. \u00a0Since that time I have not eaten sushi mostly due to my inexperience and lack of knowledge about it.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With some suggestions about what to get and some perusing of the online menu I felt ready to go as we headed out in the drizzle to downtown Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>We started the meal with some wine and a bowl of steamed and salted edamame. \u00a0A cute bowl of rice noodles in a spicy soy sauce was served sprinkled with crunchy sesame seeds and a piece of pickled ginger.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1881\" title=\"sushi14\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi14.jpg?resize=275%2C241\" alt=\"sushi14\" width=\"275\" height=\"241\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1883\" title=\"sushi12\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi12.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"sushi12\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jennifer and I ordered two rolls to split between us. \u00a0Candace was going to go the non-sushi route. \u00a0We decided on the Sexy Roll and the Rainbow Roll.<\/p>\n<p>The Rainbow roll is a rice encased combination of avocado, masago &amp; cream cheese topped with tuna, scallops and salmon.<\/p>\n<p>The Sexy Roll is shrimp tempura, ginger cream &amp; cilantro topped with avocado, crawfish &amp; mango.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1887\" title=\"sushi8\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi8.jpg?resize=400%2C290\" alt=\"sushi8\" width=\"400\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi8.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi8.jpg?resize=300%2C217 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1891\" title=\"sushi4\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi4.jpg?resize=225%2C161\" alt=\"sushi4\" width=\"225\" height=\"161\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>Both were delicious. \u00a0Dipped in a little soy sauce into which a bit of wasabi has been mixed made this a truly enjoyable meal. \u00a0I was not an expert with the chopsticks, but I managed. \u00a0I love sharing plates of food, and sushi is a great way to do it.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to try a hand roll as well. \u00a0It just sounded too cute to resist! \u00a0A cone of seaweed filled with rice and spicy tuna. \u00a0It was adorable.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1893\" title=\"sushi2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sushi2.jpg?resize=225%2C221\" alt=\"sushi2\" width=\"225\" height=\"221\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Maybe it was the company of good friends, or maybe the food was that good, or maybe a combination of both. \u00a0Whatever it was, I had such an incredible time at dinner that this will be one of those nights that I&#8217;ll remember and refer to in the future.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0;float:none;height:70px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/05\/piranha-sushi\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"400\" show_faces=\"true\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend we traveled to Fort Worth to spend the weekend with some college friends. \u00a0Texas A&amp;M played Arkansas at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, so they guys in our group went to the game on Saturday night. \u00a0We brought our dog who enjoyed the company of Kolby and Candace&#8217;s baby, Samson.
