{"id":2603,"date":"2009-12-10T11:51:32","date_gmt":"2009-12-10T17:51:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/?p=2603"},"modified":"2009-12-10T11:51:32","modified_gmt":"2009-12-10T17:51:32","slug":"peanut-butter-fudge-re-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/10\/peanut-butter-fudge-re-do\/","title":{"rendered":"Peanut Butter Fudge: Re-Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was so embarrassed after I tasted the final fudge disaster. \u00a0It was hard, crumbly and pretty much inedible. \u00a0How can someone with some tiny bit of culinary sense, a relatively competent mind, and a candy thermometer screw up fudge? \u00a0Well, I did it!<\/p>\n<p>So, you may want to discontinue reading this blog, unless you want to feel better about yourself and laugh at the woman who couldn&#8217;t make something yummy using peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. \u00a0I am ashamed!<\/p>\n<p>I felt the need to redeem myself.<\/p>\n<p>My original inspiration was marshmallow fluff. \u00a0But now it&#8217;s getting serious and I just need a spectacular Peanut Butter Fudge. \u00a0So, I tried <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/alton-brown\/peanut-butter-fudge-recipe\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">this recipe<\/a> from Alton Brown. \u00a0It uses the microwave and doesn&#8217;t require a candy thermometer. \u00a0I was a little skeptical, but the recipe was highly rated, and his recipes have always turned out pretty great when I&#8217;ve tried them in the past.<\/p>\n<p>The final product was creamy, sweet, rich and while not seeping with peanut butter flavor, was very good. \u00a0It was also incredibly easy. \u00a0If you&#8217;re planning to make treats for people this Christmas, or need something to add to a cookie tray, this is an easy and yummy fudge.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2609\" title=\"pbfudge3\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/pbfudge3.jpg?resize=400%2C279\" alt=\"pbfudge3\" width=\"400\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/pbfudge3.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/pbfudge3.jpg?resize=300%2C209 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Peanut Butter Fudge<\/h4>\n<p>(courtesy of Alton Brown)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup butter, plus more for greasing pan<\/li>\n<li>1 cup peanut butter<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon vanilla<\/li>\n<li>1 pound (about 3 and 3\/4 cups) powdered sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Microwave butter and peanut butter for 2 minutes on high.<\/li>\n<li>Stir and microwave on high for 2 more minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add vanilla and powdered sugar to peanut butter mixture and stir to combine with a wooden spoon.<\/li>\n<li>Pour into a buttered 8 by 8-inch pan lined with waxed paper.<\/li>\n<li>Place a second piece of waxed paper on the surface of the fudge and refrigerate until cool.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into 1-inch pieces and store in an airtight container for up to a week.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0;float:none;height:70px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/10\/peanut-butter-fudge-re-do\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"400\" show_faces=\"true\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was so embarrassed after I tasted the final fudge disaster. \u00a0It was hard, crumbly and pretty much inedible. \u00a0How can someone with some tiny bit of culinary sense, a relatively competent mind, and a candy thermometer screw up fudge? \u00a0Well, I did it!
