{"id":4080,"date":"2010-06-07T22:16:35","date_gmt":"2010-06-08T04:16:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/?p=4080"},"modified":"2010-06-07T22:16:35","modified_gmt":"2010-06-08T04:16:35","slug":"whisk-in-brooklyn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/07\/whisk-in-brooklyn\/","title":{"rendered":"Whisk in Brooklyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My trip here has almost come to an end, and my services as a baby helper will no longer be available to my sister as of 4pm today. \u00a0So, I babysat Maren while Lisa got her hair cut at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebeehivesalon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Beehive<\/a> in Brooklyn. \u00a0By the way, she got a great cut here. \u00a0So, if you ever need a salon in Williamsburg this is a good one.<\/p>\n<p>Maren and I set out on a little adventure of our own in the stroller. \u00a0She was asleep when we left, and I hoped this would be her consistent state for the next hour. \u00a0She has been so much fun to be around this past week. \u00a0Despite her cuteness, I would have much preferred her to remain peaceful and quiet until we got back to the salon. \u00a0She knows that I am not her mommy and the longer she sleeps, the longer she is unaware that mommy is not the one pushing the stroller. \u00a0She was a quiet resting baby during our outing, except for a tiny moment of unhappiness that was quickly ended thanks to a little comfort&#8230;in the form of a\u00a0pacifier.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4087\" title=\"whisk3\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk3.jpg?resize=327%2C127\" alt=\"\" width=\"327\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk3.jpg?w=327 327w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk3.jpg?resize=300%2C116 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk3.jpg?resize=150%2C58 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>You do not have an incredible amount of freedom when you&#8217;re maneuvering a stroller through busy streets. \u00a0This lack of freedom makes the simple task of browsing a cute gift shop, clothing store or book store much more difficult. \u00a0I passed up many shops simply because they were too crowded inside, had more than two steps to the \u00a0door, or had doors that looked a little too hard for me to fit through with the stroller. \u00a0I did see this store and couldn&#8217;t resist going in. \u00a0Whisk is a kitchen store in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn and is quite adorable and fun to browse through. \u00a0There are no steps to the door, there looked to be just one other patron in the store, and there also seemed to be room to get around people (and for people to get around me). \u00a0I am so glad I went in. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whisknyc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here<\/a> is the link with their location and hours.<\/p>\n<p>The usual suspects of kitchen gadgets adorned walls, utensil jars and shelves. \u00a0A side room contained both fun and traditional table linens, flatware, coffee and tea\u00a0paraphernalia, cookbooks and serving pieces. \u00a0It is a quainter version of a Williams-Sonoma or Sur la Table.<\/p>\n<p>I purchased this towel for $21.99 after much internal struggle. \u00a0It was a run off between this and another towel with no trim, but some very cool graphic red birds. \u00a0This will be the towel I hang on the oven door when company is coming, but I will not be using this one to clean up any spills. \u00a0It is just too beautiful. \u00a0Ben is going to think this makes it a totally impractical item, but I will let people dry their freshly washed hands on it&#8230;so it will not be completely useless.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4086\" title=\"whisk2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk2.jpg?resize=400%2C406\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk2.jpg?w=400 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk2.jpg?resize=295%2C300 295w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/whisk2.jpg?resize=147%2C150 147w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was one of many different colored and sized colanders;
