\u00a0I found this recipe for roasted broccoli and snap peas made extra delicious with a light sauce of sesame oil, orange zest, cilantro, honey, fresh ginger, garlic and sambal oelek. \u00a0So glad I took the extra time to make this side dish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/spicybroccoli.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4616\" title=\"spicybroccoli\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/spicybroccoli.jpg?resize=600%2C402\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"402\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/spicybroccoli.jpg?w=600 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/spicybroccoli.jpg?resize=300%2C201 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/spicybroccoli.jpg?resize=150%2C100 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/spicybroccoli.jpg?resize=400%2C268 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Living where we do there are limitations on the ingredients I can get my hands on. \u00a0I couldn&#8217;t find bird chiles, so I didn&#8217;t use them and as a result this wasn&#8217;t too spicy even with the sambal oelek. \u00a0If you really have a problem with spice, then you can leave that out as well. \u00a0I also didn&#8217;t use the miso, mostly because I was too lazy to look for it! \u00a0Since it&#8217;s just Ben and I eating dinner, I also like to make just enough for the two of us unless it&#8217;s something I know is wonderful left over. \u00a0So I changed parts of this recipe to better suit our lifestyle. \u00a0Here is the link to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.finecooking.com\/recipes\/spicy-asian-roasted-broccoli-sugar-snaps.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">original recipe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There is something so very special about roasted veggies, and this recipe is no exception. \u00a0This is a perfect side for an Asian flavored meal. \u00a0Enjoy!<\/p>\n<h4>Spicy Asian Roasted Broccoli &amp; Snap Peas<\/h4>\n<p>Adapted from finecooking.com<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 heads of broccoli, cut into florets<\/li>\n<li>8 ounces snap peas (1 bag)<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons olive oil, divided<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon plus 1 1\/2 teaspoons sesame oil, divided<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon honey<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon sambal oelek<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon grated orange zest<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon minced garlic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F<\/li>\n<li>Combine broccoli and snap peas in a 9&#215;13 glass dish and drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon sesame oil over vegetables, toss together to coat and sprinkle with salt.<\/li>\n<li>Roast for 20 minutes, checking and stirring about half way through. \u00a0Vegetable are done when slightly browned.<\/li>\n<li>While vegetable are cooking whisk the rest of the ingredients together.<\/li>\n<li>When vegetables are done pour sauce over and toss to coat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0;float:none;height:70px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/www.hottie-biscotti.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/20\/spicy-asian-roasted-broccoli-snap-peas\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"400\" show_faces=\"true\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My plan for dinner was a ginger sesame marinated pork tenderloin, basmati rice and steamed broccoli. \u00a0Isn&#8217;t that awfully easy&#8230;and awfully boring?
