Ginger

This is our dog Ginger.  She’s been with us since February of 2009.  We drove to Elk City, Oklahoma to get her from a shelter when she was just a wee little thing.  She was our first “baby”.  Have you seen her yet in my posts?  No? Maybe that’s because I only post pictures of my kids, who took Ginger’s spot as center of the universe when they were born.  It happens.  People are just more important than dogs.  I said it.  And it’s true.  A good friend of mine worried and worried that she wouldn’t love her kid as much as her dog.  I know she was kidding about it, at least partly :) And even that dog has taken a back seat to their new little guy.  But I do still love sweet Ginger, even though she isn’t as high on my priority list as she once was.  She’s a good dog and doesn’t love us any less than she did before Carson and Betsy came along.  She’s even made room in her little doggy heart for them.  Sniff, sniff…

Today I was messing around in the yard with a weak little crepe myrtle that has seen better days.  It’s too close to some other large trees and bushes and has all but lost the battle.  One of the branches was broken, so I tried to pull down the broken part.  Along with that came the whole branch, down to the ground.  So I pulled some more and was able to easily take 4 huge pieces down.  I’d like to get rid of the poor thing entirely.  Anyway, Ginger had a blast with what I was able to get out of the bushes and will have plenty to do out in the yard for a good while.

She definitely wants a copy of this in her own personal album – plus one to show her friends.
