Future Aggies

Today we took a drive up to College Station just because.  Carson wore his new Aggie hat.  As we were driving we had a conversation that went something like this.

Carson: “Going to see some Aggies.”

Me: “Yeah!  It’s going to be so fun.”

Carson: “So fun!”

Me: “What do you want to do when we see the Aggies?”

Carson: “Bring Aggies home and read books about Jesus.”

It really made us laugh.

Neither of the kids slept on the drive.  We got into town and had lunch at Blue Baker.  Then we went to Target for baby food and wipes because I hadn’t restocked the diaper bag before we left.

We took a walk around west campus where we found some ducks to feed.  The weather was perfect.

I never came over here when I was in school and I’ve never been to the George Bush Library.  I’d never seen this sculpture which is made of pieces of the Berlin Wall.  How did I not take advantage of this while I was in school?

Then we drove out to a great spot, the highest in the area, with tremendous views.  We didn’t get out to take pictures because the kids both fell asleep and if the kids are asleep you do not stop the car.  We’d driven out here in college with a bunch of friends to watch the sunset one evening.

For dinner we tried a burger place called Grub Burger Bar that a friend of Ben’s had recommend.  It was really delicious.  There are plans to open one up in Houston soon!

After dinner we headed home thinking that both kids would sleep.  Nope.  Betsy has started severely disliking being in the back by herself.  On the way down and on the way home she screamed until I got in the back with her and Carson.  Then she was all smiles!  We got home around 8, I fed Betsy, we got everyone in pajamas and everyone slept until after 7 the next morning.  We were all pretty beat but had a great time.
