I headed out to Round Rock on Sunday afternoon and spent that night, all day Monday and Tuesday morning there.  Grandpa Marvin was there so it was really good to get some time with him.

On Monday night we went to a birthday dinner for Debbie Collier then Sarah and I went to see Mockingjay Part 1!  Thanks to mom and dad for taking the kids home and getting them all in bed.

On Tuesday morning my mom kept the kids and I got to make a little Thanksgiving grocery store trip all by myself.  Thanks, mom :)

On Wednesday Kate Stafford took family photos for us.  The kids did ok.  Betsy was the most difficult.  Basically she just wanted to do the opposite of what anyone asked her to do.  I am looking forward to seeing the photos, though.  Kate does a great job of capturing real life in a lovely way. After pictures we had lunch, then Carson, Ben and Steve went out to the lake to clean up and do yard work while Kate and I stayed home and did some cooking for Thanksgiving.  Chris flew in that night.

We headed out to the lake on Thursday after Christopher’s morning nap.  Carson really enjoys riding with Ben.  It’s their special time.  I hope we remember to do it with Betsy and Christopher as they get older. Thanksgiving was lovely.  The weather was amazing and so was the meal.  A special thanks to Lynn for hosting and for all the work she did on the food!  I seriously dread the day when I have to head up a Thanksgiving meal.  I am sure I will not do it nearly as well.  Since both A&M and UT played that night we drove back home and got back not too much after the games had started.  We both ended up losing.

Friday we had lunch at Elizabeth street.  Thanks for setting it up, Claire! That afternoon Ben and I went on a run with Christopher.  I wish we both had more time to do that.  It’s so good for both of us, physically and mentally.  One day we’ll get back in to the groove.  Right now we just take the opportunities when they come!  Thanks for staying with the big kids while we went, Steve.

That night we took a walk on the town lake boardwalk.  I joked that I got more exercise that day than I usually get in a week, only it wasn’t a joke. Kate had made a cake for Ben’s birthday so we celebrated that night.

On Saturday we went back home after lunch.

 

Ben’s birthday was Sunday.  I made him birthday kolaches, we went to church, the kids took pretty good naps (thank goodness!), Ben took Christopher on a run and I cleaned and prepared for the Hartmans and Gilberts to come over for dinner.  It was a little surprise for Ben and I think he had a good time.
