Thanks to the Aggies playing in the Liberty Bowl, our parents and our great friends we spent a couple of days in Memphis right after Christmas. I cannot wait to go back!
Our Airbnb was amazing.
We got in late our first night, had Tops BBQ at about midnight, split a huge bottle of wine, went to bed around 1, woke up a couple times with Christopher, didn’t drink enough water and had a nice headache to prove it in the morning.
We had breakfast, hung out for a while, put Christopher down for a nap thinking we’d head to the game after he got up and ate. Of course he took a very long nap and we watched the first quarter of the game on Ben’s tablet.
After he got up the Hartmans dropped us at the game and they took care of Christopher while we watched the Aggies win their bowl game! We ate these delicious BBQ nachos and lost feeling in our toes.
They picked us up, we went to eat BBQ (again!) and then went home and went to bed at a much more decent hour than the night before. Christopher got up a few times, but it was better than the night before.
On the 30th we basically just ate our way through the day. Gibson’s Donuts, The Peabody for coffee, Cozy Corner for BBQ lunch and Gus’s Chicken for dinner. Put the baby down at a very reasonable time.
Went to bed ourselves by 10 since we had to get up at 3:30 am Christopher was up almost the entire night. When he did sleep it was when Ben or I held him, so during that time we weren’t sleeping. So the day began early and without much sleep.
Thankfully the flight was easy and Kate and Steve brought the kids home the day before and we didn’t have to endure the 3 hour layover in Houston and then a 2 1/2 hour drive home. Kate and Steve, we owe you big time! I do not know how I scored such wonderful and generous in-laws.
