When Christopher was young I decided to put blackout curtains in his room. It was summer and that room got so hot during the day that it just seemed like a good idea. I recently decided to do the same in Betsy and Carson’s room. I thought it would be so easy. I know how to put in dry wall anchors, I know how to use a power tool, I know I am capable of such a simple home improvement task. But it turns out I am not as capable as I thought. I did eventually get it, but not without some visible damage to the wall and some not so visible damage of exposing my 18 month old to some choice language.
