I made the mistake of talking about washing the car instead of taking it through the car wash a while back, and the kids really took to the idea and have been asking when we were going to do it. I kept putting it off because we didn’t have what we needed. So we finally got some sponges, buckets and car wash soap at the store today and got the car washed!
It wasn’t a terrible experience, but one kid (not sure who…) did leave the door open and the dog got out. We had to go drive around the neighborhood and find her. During our drive I kept talking (maybe yelling?) to them about responsibility and being careful with our choices because they have consequences. I am fairly confident that no one was listening to me…per usual.
Christopher was not a fan of staying in the front yard. He’d either try to run down the sidewalk or head to the garage or back yard. I ended up filling a baby pool in the back and he no longer helped with the car. Not a big deal. Betsy was not a huge help, but did help scrub a little. Once she started sitting the in soapy water bucket I sent her back to hang with Christopher. So Carson and I finished it up. He was my big helper.
The van looks so much better than it did pre-wash! A much needed bath. Now it needs an interior clean…
