Dancing Boy

I recently read an article about how much parents are posting about their kids on facebook, instagram, blogs, etc.  What used to be kept private in baby books and home videos is now being put out there for the world to see.  As parents we aren’t being as thoughtful as we should be about how much we share and who we share it with.

So why am I sharing this video?  It’s funny!  And I want friends and family who keep up with the blog to see it.  And I want to remember it instead letting it get buried with the other videos on my computer.  I do want to know though, how do we strike a healthy balance between sharing moments with friends and family, preserving memories for our family, and putting our kids out there for anyone to see?  I guess it comes down to choosing what parts of our life we share with the world and what parts we choose to keep between us and always making sure that we’re aware of why we share, how much we share and what it may mean for our family and our kids 10 years down the road.  Maybe when my kids start middle school I’ll make the blog private or password protect everything so they don’t get teased about pictures of them in the bathtub.  But for now, here is a video that Carson will be begging me not to show his girlfriends in 20 years.  That’s right.  20 years.  Because he’s not dating before then.  Enjoy!
